Madeline Junior Portraits

I little later than promised... sorry guys! I'm covering two positions at work right now, and it's killing me! Hopefully this week I'll just be given the better of the two and the raise that goes with it! Anyway... Here is Madeline's Junior Portraits taken at Cemetery Hill right after Christmas.

I can't believe she's already a Junior! The end of this year I'll be doing senior portraits! ACK! I remember her as a baby, as a toddler, and a preschooler. Now she's becoming a woman. Too weird!

Casey and Michelle - June 5, 2010

Casey and Michelle tied the knot on June 5th. What a fun wedding it was too! I was so incredibly humbled to be chosen as their photographer, and excited to show my stuff, and capture the day they'd remember for the rest of their lives as best I could.

We started at Michelle's home with everyone getting ready. She was nervous, but her bridesmaids made her laugh and smile which was great!

Her ride was a sweet classic Cadillac. What a photo op!

The ceremony was held at the Wight House in Bountiful. The rooftop was a stunning backdrop to the vows.

Afterword we did the formal shots (more like fun shots!)

The reception was held on the second floor of the building, and then everybody let loose! I can freely say, a good time was had by all!

I was so happy to hear back from the couple (after their amazing honeymoon!) that they were thrilled with their pictures. That makes a photog feel great!

Michelle's Bridals

Michelle is getting married in just over a month! We were waiting to do her bridals until a bit later, but the orchard she wanted her photos at was in bloom! We lucked out with a warm sunny weekend and got her pictures done before the bad weather came in!

It was a perfect day, with perfect light and a perfect model! What more can a photographer ask for? Well I got even more. After she saw her pictures she took the time to let me know she loved them. Nothing makes a photographer feel better than that!

Come out sunshine!

Sidnee and Geoffrey Maternity Shoot

Sidnee and Geoff came in for some belly shots, and some pictures of the two of them, before two becomes three! Sidnee was adorable and so easy to shoot, and the two of them were so fun and relaxed. I love when clients make my job easy! Below is a sampling of her shoot.

As a Christmas present to the whole family, Tami decided they should do a family portrait while everyone was together for Thanksgiving. They are so cute and my new studio lighting was great! Merry Christmas Crooks!

Gayel's Trees!

I did a session for a friend named Gayel. She is moving to a new development where the views from her new home will be nothing like her current view:

So, she is having me make some poster sized prints of these trees to go in a large window in her new house. Let us hope they turn out well!! The rest of these pictures were me wandering around her lovely apartment complex in Murray, Utah. This complex is amazing... I'd so live there. Geese roaming the place, trees and ponds and old houses. Too cool. Well, enjoy for a moment the view Gayel gets every day!!

I loved the light so much I decided to un-focus and just photograph the way the light dappled through the trees.

WesTech Engineering, Inc Ground Breaking Oct. 16th

I've was so excited to shoot this corporate event for WesTech. WesTech is a water process engineering company in South Salt Lake. They had a groundbreaking event for their new building. The company has grown so much in the last couple years they're bursting at the seams. So, time for a 60,000 square foot building, right?

WesTech is an employee-owned company, so instead of having their guests of honor be the CEO, President, Board of directors and architects, they decided to have employees select other employee owners to do the honors! There were two groups of people to do the digging. In the second picture, the CEO did get in on the action after the crowd cheered him up there.

The typical guests of honor did get together for a few pictures though. This is the CEO in the CAT, with the board of directors, architects, general contractors, and president of the company posing for some pictures.

They then let the guys hop in the CAT and fill in the big hole. I think they had a good time. Below is the previous CEO, now board member, below him the President of WesTech.

This weekend has been mad! I had a Corporate Event shoot on Thursday, then this weekend we've been celebrating my birthday all weekend. So, no full post today... but a preview of what I'll post in a day or two of the groundbreaking ceremony!

Michelle and Brian One Year Later

I first shot Michelle and Brian a year ago yesterday, for their wedding! Now they had me do their first anniversary pictures. We had a blast up Butterfield canyon taking some fun casual shots.

This next shot was my favorite of the day. What a fun couple!
This was an accidental moment I caught. They really love each other.

Homecoming - Madeline and Chris

Madeline decided she wanted some better pictures than the school photographer offered, so we did a shoot at her house and in her neighborhood. They are such a cute couple. So young and in love. It was fun doing a formal shoot without the craziness of a wedding. I very much enjoyed this shoot!

This next shot was done specifically for Madeline's mother. She likes the touch of color photos, and this one is for her.

This next one was inspired by a picture Madeline has of her and Chris making a heart with their hands. An ode to their relationship.

Rebekah

I can't believe how much Rebekah has grown this year! Usually I prefer brighter shots, especially for babies, but she's turning into such a girl now, and the light outside was so blue, I used more of an urban style for these. Pretty fun!

This last one I couldn't resist... it was a lot of fun to play with digital editing and make a truly fantastical picture. I hope she likes it!

Pin-up Photoshoot for Bobbie

I did this photo shoot for my sister Bobbie, last fall. She was auditioning to be in a pin-up calendar. This was the first year with my sweet Candy (That's my camera...) and before I had photoshop. I used rudimentary editing that was available on an online version. (it's slow and clunky and limited) But still had a little fun with her pics.

I am late getting these up, but I loved them too much to leave them off the site :) Sen was fun to shoot. We got some great pics of her tattoo, and just some fun ones for her scrapbook etc.
The pink hat shots are my favorite. I think they show the sen that no one else knows.

The goth pics were just plain fun, and easy to just go crazy with in PS... but I love them!

Great light, fun photoshoot. Gotta love it :D

Kirk and Honey. 10 years.

Honey and Kirk were so much fun to shoot! Very accommodating and willing to get into weird poses, so they'd end up with great pictures. And they certainly did end up beautiful. I can't believe that after 10 years they still light up around each other, but just look and see for yourself. No forced smiles here, all sweet loving looks at each other.

These were all shot at Camp Floyd State Park, in Fairfield, Utah.

Honey was so brave. There were bees in those flowers and that is her major fear. But she doesn't even look stiff... she's so photogenic!

I loved capturing the little moments where they'd catch each other's eye and make the other smile... what a wonderful couple.
This last one is Honey's fave, and I think will be their new family picture. How sweet! Thanks for letting me shoot you guys, you were awesome!
